If so, WELCOME! Those who know us or have tuned into our podcast KNOW that New Orleans, Louisiana is forever in our hearts. Our first ever podcast IS literally about Muriel’s in the French Quarter and that led us to 2 more episodes.

I’ll admit our love affair with New Orleans began when Roni suggested we go to Mardi Gras 1997 for our belated Honey Moon. We had a double wedding in 1996 and the theme was New Orleans. I mean it was a very Catholic ceremony and what better exit than to have a horse drawn carriage take us to our glorious reception venue? Our reception opener was a Dixie Land Jazz Band while appetizers were being served. We’re forever grateful for Mom’s excellent entertainment choices.

Since 1997 we have been to a few Mardi Gras including 2022 to celebrate our oldest boys turning 21 post pandemic. I was also deployed there for the Deep Horizon oil spill in 2010 with the U. S.
